Fresh Thinking on Communicating with Data slides by Andy Kirk ( @visualisingdata )

I think this is an updated / newer version of previous slides Andy has shared as there are definitely some I have seen before. And I really like the “hats-slide” as it shows why I find data visualization, or visualization design, so appealing and interesting: Screen Shot 2015-03-26 at 9.49.22 PM

Slides: THINKING ABOUT DATA VISUALIZATION THINKING, by @visualisingdata

Since I’m adding some good stuff from Andy, I really enjoyed this one too (2014):

The 5 attributes of good visualization thinking:

1. Organized (sequenced thinking)

2. Contextual (framing our thinking)

3. Imaginative (harnessing instincts)

4. Journalistic (harnessing curiosity)

5. Critical (developing the craft)

I really liked many of the visuals he used, and I found this slide very interesting at multiple levels and emotionally touching:

(I think it is from Wikipedia, the reference is hard to read on the slide)
